Chaos is a player, always has been. As alpha male at Pack City, hooking up with someone long term puts them on a death list. So, he plays it cool with Tee, keeps an eye on her, puts the hands off sign out, but never gets close. He'd rather worship her from afar than watch her die.

All she knows is her action gets less and less by the day.

When a bartender slips her a date rape drug, Chaos comes unglued, clears the place, and hauls Tee home-where he makes up for all the action she's been missing.

Excerpt:
I wonder what the guys outside thought. It had to sound like a full-blown dogfight. We were both growling. I was pawing and clawing, and he was keeping me just out of reach, not letting me go-which just pissed me off more. I wanted to end it all, one way or the other.

Got one good swipe in. Actually drew blood.

Next thing I knew, I hit the floor in one big whoosh and he was on top of me, had me pinned to the cold tile with his nose-son-of-a-bitching long wolf-ass nose-a breath from mine. His eyes were peering down into me, and flashing with gold flecks. We were both breathing heavy.

But I couldn't move for shit. That's the only reason I stopped fighting.

Now, Chaos is not known for his control. So the fact that he didn't rip me to shreds is a credit to him. Not that I'd ever really heard that he was like that to women. Just…he was out of control on a lot of fronts. I had a right to be scared. But, like I said, I was working on a suicide day.

Taunting him with a thought, Go ahead, Mr. Big Ass.

Maybe that checked him. I dunno.

He sniffed me, though. And that was worse than anything else he could've done. That breath away from touching me, he took his time inhaling, running his nose over my temple and ear, and just below that before looking me in the eye again. He could've raped me easily there. I felt him throbbing against my thigh. Definite hot blood flow goes on in crinos.

I even thought Rape me, you sorry son-of-a-bitch. It's not like I care any more.

He climbed off of me then, and pulled me to my feet. I couldn't help but think I knew you'd disappoint me.

Yeah, you got that right. There was a part of me that wanted to be raped. That wanted to be killed fast. Put this dying dog down.

Does that sound harsh? That was how I felt. I just hated myself. I was too lonely to care any more. Too self-destructive to have any self-respect.

Minutes passed while we looked each other in the eye. In crinos, I don't give a shit about anything. What I can't handle, I figure…what the hell? Maybe it'll be the answer to all my prayers.

The blood I'd drawn-across his collarbone-gave off a warm, salty odor. Made my nose wrinkle. Yeah, a part of me wanted to lap it. Talk about your twisted tension and skewed thoughts.

So maybe I was a little distracted by that. But the next thing you know, Chaos pushed me up against the wall, pressing his chest into mine. Through gritted teeth, he what? Promised? “Never let it be said that I disappointed you.”

He felt me up, coarsely, but not painfully.

I had my hands on his shoulders, trying to push him away. Maybe not pushing that hard. He had a firm toehold on the tiles, though, and the pressure of his chest against mine was firm, unrelenting.

There was no mistaking the pawing of his crinos digits, though. Over the smooth-haired front of my thigh, his fingers slid into the slick wetness between my legs. He had me turned on. Freaking shaking like a leaf, but his pheromones were pumping sweat that I wanted to lick.

To get a grip on my own emotions, I had to close my eyes, concentrate. I didn't want to give him the satisfaction of taking me roughly, in crinos. Call me crazy, since I know I started it.

Call me obtuse. It's a woman's prerogative to change her mind, isn't it?

Reviews:

Cary's Weldon enthralls readers with the fictional world of Pack City Where werewolves live and struggle to find their place in the pack. Chaos the new alpha of Pack City has found his mate in the feisty Tee (short for Teeth). This story is highly entertaining and sensual I recommend this to all reader who love to read paranormals about sexy werewolves. 5 hearts.

This book is the prequel to Leader of the Pack and the story is told from Tee's point of view. There is very little romance in this book and the focus is on the sex life of Tee and Chaos. Tee makes no excuses for being promiscuous and her desire's for Chaos is strong. Chaos is the ultimate alpha male who believes in total domination. This couple is perfect for each other in every way and soon finds out that they are meant to be. This book is a prequel so you may want to read it first, before you read Leader of the Pack. However if you have already read the first one, this gives you some insight into pack life.

Cary Weldon has the heartbeat of tension and romance in this wonderful werewolf tale. The sex is steamy, the flow is good, the characters are believable (I loved the alpha male Chaos),and the story line is intriguing. I was drawn into the tale right away and couldn't stop reading until I finish. This one is a keeper, a recommended read.

Carys Weldon has once again proven that she is among the best short story writers out there today with CHAOS: PREQUEL TO LEADER OF THE PACK. She grabs her readers' interest from the first page and keeps the action moving along at a nice clip throughout the book. And once again, Weldon's book ending is positively perfect for a short story. She always leaves readers wanting more. Any time this reader sees a short story by Carys Weldon being released, it is definitely an automatic buy.

Chaos: Prequel to Leader of the Pack is a peek into the somewhat twisted relationship between the borderline-suicidal Tee and the powerful, intense Chaos. Told in the first person by Tee, we see the protagonist from Wanton Werewolves Book 1: Leader of the Pack, Chaos, as something other than a power-hungry psychotic. We see him now as a werewolf who loves and can be loved. This is not your everyday love story. Ms. Weldon has taken Chaos and Tee - characters you are sure not to like - and given them dimensions that pull at your heartstrings. This somewhat psychotic relationship is so far beyond the norm that, while it may not appeal to all, it pulled tears from me. To get such an in depth look into the motivating factors between these two forceful personalities was a treat. For those who have not read the first book, I won't give away the ending; I will say that Chaos and Tee's relationship is all the more poignant because of it though. I anxiously await Ms. Weldon's next work. She is an author not to be missed!

I highly recommend Chaos, as well as Leader of the Pack, to fans of werewolf romance. If you like love stories with animal magnetism, you simply cannot miss this series. According to Ms. Weldon's website, she has several more of these stories in the works. If they all live up to the standards set by the first two, they will be at the very top of my favorite erotic werewolf romances.

I must say this book is wonderful and such a take on Tee and Chaos that I absolutely fell in love with these two truly hard to love characters. I read the first book in this series before reading this prequel so I knew what happens to these two. Since I knew their outcome I was not sure what to expect -- I truly underestimated Tee and Chao's love story and Ms Weldon's writing ability to express such tenderness between these two aggressive characters. Despite my prior knowledge and their lifestyle this is absolutely a love story and dare I say tender. Chaos was portrayed in the first book as horrible but after reading this book I have to say he is most endearing and his love and passion for Tee is not only heart warming but very intense as is her feelings for Chaos. What I truly loved about this book is that these seemingly strong, independent people who put the fear of God in others were so insecure about themselves and how they were viewed and valued by each other. Like in the first book this book is told in the first person by Tee, which provides great perspective to the story. The erotic scenes are very hot and numerous. When you finish this book you will either re-read the first book or go buy it because their story is so bittersweet that you cannot get enough and want to gobble up ever detail. Ms Weldon did a wonderful job with this story that left me so in love with these two characters which was definitely in opposition to how they first appeared in Leader of the Pack and my reaction to them.

Carys Weldon gives fans a blunt and interesting look at the perks and drawbacks of being a werewolf from Tee's less than rose colored view. The chemistry is explosive between Chaos and Tee as they work through their reservations and guards to show their true emotions. CHAOS is an enthralling prologue to what will no doubt be a terrific paranormal series!

Chaos by Carys Weldon is a story told from Tee's perspective. Tee wakes up in bed with a gorgeous man after a night she cannot remember. She knows that she is self destructive and just figures it is finally all going to end when she recognizes the gorgeous man as Chaos.

An explosive little number packed full of punch and attitude from start to finish; Chaos by Carys Weldon is one exciting ride. Tee and Chaos are bad to the bone and exactly the types every girl falls in love with and longs to be in the dark of night. The scenery is raw and packed with excitement and tension and the story line leaves you begging for the next installment in this series. I completely enjoyed my time with this one and am definitely going to recommend it to all my friends who enjoy strong characters.

Chaos is a riveting, spine-tingling, exhilarating read that heats up the pages of the book. Chaos and Tee are afraid to love one another, because they know there will be repercussions from it. They cannot stop how much they feel for each other. I savoured the exchange between these two and the emotions that came to the forefront. This book is a must for readers who love a good werewolf or shape-shifting tale.
